I aspire for my therapy practice to be an inclusive space where everyone is welcome. It has been my honour and privilege to work with people from a wide age range, diverse cultural, ethnic and social backgrounds and with a range of neurotypes. This has included working with gender, sexuality and relationship diversity. My therapy practice is LGBTQ+ affirming, neurodivergent-affirming and trauma-informed.
Relational therapy considers more than the one-to-one therapeutic encounter and acknowledges the societal context within which we live, as well as the wider impact of systemic inequalities and how they may contribute and sustain individual difficulties. As such, I value that relational therapy can be social justice informed and trauma-informed in its approach.
Working within-diversity is an important aspect of my inclusive therapy practice. Whilst as humans we have shared experiences, we are all different, have different values and deserve to be met with compassion and understanding. As I continue to develop both cultural attunement and cultural competence, I am committed to anti-oppressive therapeutic practice.
Please feel free to make me aware of any aspects of your identity or your cultural needs that are important to you.
